Southeastern FWB College came to RBD with fire code issues pertaining their men’s dormitory building. The college decided to convert a section of dorms in their men’s dormitory building into three classrooms and one storage closet. This caused a situation where three additional exits were needed to be added to the classroom section of the dormitory to meet North Carolina fire codes. RBD provided engineering drawings to a commercial builder that RBD recommended to complete this job in time for fall semester classes.
RBD took the time with the personnel at Southeastern FWB College to discuss both the fire marshal’s recommendations and alternative remedies to the fire code issues and come up with a cost effective plan of action. RBD will stay in contact with the college to make sure the project stays on course.
